Overtaking

Before you considering overtaking ask yourself 

Is it safe? Is it legal? Is it really necessary?

Make sure to stay back from the vehicle you wish to overtake.

Look ahead to assess the speed and distance of any oncoming vehicle.

Check your mirrors to see what is happening behind you and also to your sides.

Adjust your speed to be able to overtake safely and without delay.

Give adequate clearance to what you are overtaking.

Check again to see if safe and signal if necessary, make sure to take into account any bends or junctions.

Move back to the left without cutting in , and accelerate if necessary.
